As a Coach I accept the decisions of the umpires without showing inappropriate emotions.
As a Coach I understand that badgering harassing or being disrespectful to umpires, score keepers, players, fans, parents or league officials are grounds for ejection from the ballpark. If I am ejected from a ball game, there will be an incident report filed by the umpire. Each ejection will be reviewed by the board of directors.

As a Coach I have the ultimate responsibility for my conduct and the conduct of the players.
As a Coach I understand that playing time for all players is important in overall development and I will make every effort possible to include all players in every game.
As a Coach I will place the emotional and physical well-being of your players ahead of any personal desire to win. Want to win and strive to win, but don’t “win at all costs”. Seek to achieve excellence.
As a Coach I will ensure that I am knowledgeable in the rules of the sport that I coach, and teach these rules to my players. I will strive to develop the total individual, not just the athlete.
As a Coach I will treat each player, coach, official and parent with respect and dignity.
As a Coach I will treat each player as an individual; remember the wide spread of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
As a Coach I will lead by example, in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all players. Remember that the team is a direct reflection of the coach(es).
As a Coach I will remember that I represent Lake City and the surrounding communities; my family; my team; and my coaches as well as myself.
As a Coach I will remember that I am a youth coach and the game is for children, not adults.
As a Coach I will be positive and have fun.
As a Coach I will communicate with parents regularly through text messaging, email and/or phone to schedule, reschedule and cancel games, practices. Communicate with league personnel of team results and schedule changes as necessary.
Coaches will be given a bag of equipment at the beginning of the season and are responsible for the inventory throughout the season.
As a Coach I will assist with parental involvement in the LCYBA program.
As a Coach I will complete concussion training as needed.
As a Coach I will complete background check bi-annually.
I agree to follow the above Code of Conduct and understand that it is up to the LCYBA Board of Directors to decide on the degree of discipline
The NFHS has teamed up with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to educate coaches, officials, parents and students on the importance of proper concussion recognition and management in high school sports. This course highlights the impact of sports-related concussion on athletes, teaches how to recognize a suspected concussion, and provides protocols to manage a suspected concussion with steps to help players return to play safely after a concussion. Each state's requirements for concussion management are included as part of the course.
Starting in 2014 the LCYBA has instituted a background check policy that is to be taken by all coaches and assistants. This background check is valid for 2 years and must be renewed after that time has expired. The cost of this background check is paid by the LCYBA.
The LCYBA is concerned for the players’ safety. Any adult listed as a coach or asssistant must complete the online background application and have a valid certificate of completion.
No one associated with the LCYBA can view the application and while the applicant will be notified if their background check is not accepted and provided appropriate details, the LCYBA will only be notified that the adult cannot be registered.
The LCYBA has chosen Background Investigation Bureau, LLC (BIB) to perform the background check. Information about BIB can be found by clicking on the BIB logo below. If you would like to move on to the background check please click ON THIS LINK
